A technology executive who has held leadership responsibilities spanning North America, Latin America and Europe, John Teltsch serves as Global Business Partners general manger at IBM. Based in New York, John Teltsch provides opportunity-driven support to approximately 160,000 IBM Business Partners worldwide in solution areas such as systems hardware, GTS/GBS services, security, cloud, analytics, and artificial intelligence.
Mr. Teltsch previously guided the firm’s global enterprise and commercial sales business, which generates more than half of the company’s total revenue. He also has held similar sales leadership responsibilities with IBM Analytics and in 2016 drove market share gains while working to transform the offering portfolio from an on-premise on time charge model to an as a service model cloud offering model. This required significant change in skills across IBM's sales and technical workforce.
Mr. Teltsch joined IBM in the early 1980s after graduating from Spring Hill College in Alabama. He accepted his first executive position with IBM Direct in Latin America and subsequently guided IBM.com and channel sales from the firm’s Paris office. He has also engaged as Tivoli Software president of sales in North America and as vice president of worldwide sales with IBM’s Intel server division System x. He is known as a very hands on, operational executive focused on transforming and inspiring leadership in each of IBM's markets to drive change consistently delivering against revenue, profit targets and market share gains.
