John Tindall-Gibson
In a career spanning more than 30 years, John Tindall-Gibson has earned a reputation as a highly effective teacher and school administrator. As Superintendent of Naugatuck Public Schools in Connecticut, Tindall-Gibson has implemented full-day kindergarten and directed a successful effort to raise student test scores. He also oversaw the installation of the state’s largest solar panel array on the roof of Naugatuck High School. Prior to joining Naugatuck Public Schools, John Tindall-Gibson held positions with school districts in Arizona, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Recently, as Superintendent of Litchfield Public Schools, he led a successful $33 million referendum to fund the renovation of the high school.
Tindall-Gibson also worked to ensure that each school in the district met its Adequate Yearly Progress requirements. Earlier in his career, John Tindall-Gibson served in a variety of roles with Amphitheater Public Schools in Tucson, Arizona. As a School Principal from 1993 to 2000, he held responsibility for curriculum development, budgeting, staffing, strategic planning, and other administrative matters. Tindall-Gibson also held subsequent positions as Director, Coordinator, and Assistant Principal with Amphitheater Public Schools. Tindall-Gibson taught courses in subjects including American history, U.S. government, sociology, and anthropology, and developed Project SOAR, an alternative curriculum for at-risk youths with computer-aided instruction, community service, and outdoor education components.
In addition to his work as an educator and administrator, John Tindall-Gibson possesses extensive experience in construction and project management. In the 1980s, he served as a Construction Superintendent with KE&G Construction in Tucson, supervising all aspects of the construction process for more than 70 homes. John Tindall-Gibson also oversaw the construction of condominiums, commercial buildings, and custom homes as a Project Manager for Delmar Development Corporation in Tucson.
John Tindall-Gibson earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at The University of Arizona, where he also completed Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Education. Tindall-Gibson holds membership in several
