John Valines

John Valines’ professional theatre career began when he was 16 years old in Houston, Texas as a stagehand for STAGES Repertory Theatre. In Orlando, John became the technical director for the improv theatre Sak Comedy Lab. He also became Vice President of Sak and an improv teacher.

His directing credits include Todd Kimbro’s “DeCaffeinated”, “Caffeine Episode II”, “Failure an Epic Adventure”, “Equus: On Ice”, Stephen Belber’s “Tape” and the award-winning “Farrago”, which he co-wrote.

In 2001 John joined the theatrical acapella group Toxic Audio as their 6th member and technical director. With John’s help, Toxic Audio went to New York in 2004 and became an off-Broadway sensation winning the Drama Desk award for “Most Unique Theatrical Experience”, the same award that had been given previously to Cirque du Soleil.

John lives in Orlando, FL where he is a freelance sound designer for many of Central Florida's live theaters.

John’s biggest achievement so far in life is his daughter Gates. She’s way cool.
