Jolie Abreu

Shortly after graduating from Florida State University, Ms. Jolie Abreu was recruited to participate in the Teach for America program. Her first assignment was at Frederick Douglass Elementary School in Overtown, Miami. She worked there for three years teaching students in first, third, and fourth grade. Prior to Ms. Jolie’s experience in Teach for America, she was on track to become a corporate lawyer. Her experience in the program helped her realize that educating children was her true calling.

Opening a preschool is allowing Ms. Jolie to combine two of her greatest passions—her love for teaching young children and her entrepreneurial spirit. Years of experience coupled with a great deal of planning and preparation will culminate in the Shine Bright Academy, currently in the final stages of being opened. Located in Broward County, the academy will be a state-of-the-art learning facility utilizing the most effective educational methods.
