Hi, I’m Jolie! I'm the owner of a small business in Placencia Village, Belize that uses the magic of sustainably farmed seaweed to make results-driven hair care products. No time to blow dry, flat iron and all that fuss? Don't want chemical damage? Want to see the best in what grows naturally on top of your head? I got you, and I don't care where you come from or what color you are!!

I was raised in Belize City and left on a Jesuit scholarship to pursue my bachelor's in journalism in Mobile, Alabama. Thought I'd head off to grad school to pursue my dream of becoming a muck-raking investigative journalist back in Belize or a word-smithing culture reporter working for the New Yorker, but fate had other plans!

After graduation, I worked in higher education fundraising then made the move back home to my family's longtime vacation destination - a tiny village of just 1,000 people at the southern end of an 18-mile long peninsula. Instead of outing corruption or calling out bad business practices, I managed our tourism office where I was also the editor of a feel-good community newspaper covering all things positive from annual lobster festivals to which primary school student got an award for good grades in school. When it was time for a break, I took up waitressing intending to serve up my mom's delicious home cooking for a just short time until I figured out what I was going to do with my life. That lasted much longer than expected, and little did I know that a fun hobby I had picked up when I wasn't going over the evening dinner specials would take me on the wild journey of entrepreneurship.

Now women (and recently men too) all over Belize and as far away as Germany, Canada, the United States, Taiwan, Panama and Guyana can testify to the super hydrating and nourishing formula that started as an experiment in my humble kitchenette. Thanks to Belize's fledging seaweed industry farmed and managed by some of the most brilliant and earth-loving people in my community, I hope more of you get to experience the Belizean seaweed difference!

When I'm not trying to learn the language of business or playing mad scientist, I enjoy taking long, long swims in the open sea hoping the jellyfish don't get me!
