Originally from Beaumont, TX, I spent almost 8 years in the Army as an administrative specialist, systems administrator, and air traffic controller. Today, I continue to work in web development with content management systems like Joomla and WordPress. My platform of choice is LAMP ( PHP, Apache2, MySQL, and PHP). Currently I am learning the WordPress API for theme and plugin development. I find WordPress more simple and less time consuming for the bulk of work that finds me. I haven’t completely abandoned Joomla. I don’t consider myself a web designer because I not as involved in the creative process as a designer. I do more coding than designing. However, I am constantly taking someone’s design and coding it in HTML / XHTML / HTML5 and so on. Lately I have been learning more jQuery and CodeIgniter.
