There's nothing more visually off-putting to a potential client or customer than an unruly bunch of words. Especially when they've clearly been thrown together with little or no thought as how well they'll work together to convey a message.
That's where I come in; as a copywriter, other people trust me to put the right words together for them. Sometimes though, I'm faced with the task of rehabilitating entire sentences that people have carelessly lumped together. These sentences might be suffering from severe repetition, loss of rhythm or even a crippling lact of punctuation. Often, the only effective treatment is a complete rewrite.
The newest fad I've witnessed seems to be the gross abuse of SEO key phrases as they're wedged in willy nilly into bits of existing web content. The result can often be an ugly, awkward sounding abominaton. And worse, it probably won't help lift the page's ranking that much due to Google's concentration on content quality in its Panda and Hummingbird algorithm changes.
With a growing need for well written on-line content that still hits all the right search phrases, hard-working people like myself, who care about effective sentence structuring, will be increasingly invaluable to savvy on-line businesses.
