Jonathan Isenstein
Student in Amherst, Massachusetts
I am a rising senior at UMass Amherst with aconcentration in Neuroscience. I have held several lab and research positions that used a variety of lab techniques, such as EMG recording procedures, statistical analysis, and animal model care. My proven leadership skills as the president of the UMass Neuroscience Club and strong work ethic shown in my various lab assistant positions make me an ideal candidate for working in a professional research environment.
I am highly motivated and driven by knowledge and discovery of the brain. Understanding the source of how we see the world and how we interact with it is incredibly important to being able to advance and improve human life. I seek strong and long-lasting relationships in my professional and personal life so that I can have many opportunities to work with other amazing people. I believe that through collaboration of ideas and data, we will get closer to fully understanding the brain and be able to apply that knowledge to medicine, psychology, engineering, and a variety of other fields. I have incredibly high internal motivation when it comes to learning and studying Neuroscience. To me, the brain is the most fascinating area of study because there is always something new to learn about this incredibly complex organ. This has given me the motivation for success in research and the passion that drives me to give 110% in my work.
