Jonathan Adey
Cornwall UK
I originally trained as a fisheries scientist, where I worked with fishing communities to develop sustainable fishing practices. Following this role, I worked in Investment Banking before returning to the environmental field, where I set up a number of ground breaking projects in the field of Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation.
I am now based in Cornwall in the UK. Following a period of leading Cornwall Councils team supporting the £500m EU structural funding programme, I currently head up the Smart Cornwall Programme on a part time basis and run my own company Smarter Futures in my other time.
The Smart Cornwall programme is a strategic investment programme in the field of Smart Energy and Smart Grid, with the aim to place Cornwall at the forefront of the development and delivery of Smart technologies in Europe. I established this programme 2 years ago and currently lead a number of specific projects as well as the overall strategic direction.
Through this experience I have a broad and deep understanding in the fields of Sustainability, Climate Change and Smart Energy, including the complex linkages between these. I am also a skilled project and programme manager and qualified management consultant, having developed and delivered a number of groundbreaking projects, using a range of funding mechanisms from the UK and Europe.
