Jonathan Coley

Jonathan Coley was born on November 20, 1988 in the Northwestern quadrant of Washington, D.C. His father was a sergeant in the United States Army and his mother is a Registered nurse. Upon his father being stationed to Fort Bragg, N.C. his family moved to Fayetteville, N.C. Jonathan’s father passed away in 1997. Jonathan attended Terry Sanford senior High school and was admitted to North Carolina Central University in Durham, N.C.
Jonathan attended North Carolina Central University in 2007-2008 for his first year of college, and then later transferred to Fayetteville State University. At Fayetteville State University he majored in Political Science and was active in various organizations such as the university’s political science club, where he presided as president his senior year. Jonathan worked with the organization and common cause of North Carolina to advocate for issues in North Carolina relating to equality and social opportunity.
Jonathan graduated from Fayetteville State University with honors in 2011. Upon graduating he was faced with the opportunity to attend law school or enroll at North Carolina Central University to pursue a Masters in Public Administration. He chose to enroll at North Carolina Central University’s Masters of Public Administration program to gain knowledge of government structure and leadership skills before going to law school.
He currently is scheduled to graduate in December of 2013 with a Masters in Public Administration and plans to move back to Washington, D.C. to pursue a Juris Doctorate specializing in criminal law at The University Of The District of Columbia. Jonathan is an aspiring district attorney and judge. His mentor is ex N.C. Supreme Court Justice Patricia Timmons-Goodson.
