Jonathan Klein
Trained in the fields of user interface design, graphic design, marketing, visualization and writing, Jonathan has spent over 20 years growing organizations as a creative spearhead, usability engineer, researcher, marketer and manager. Promoted to VP at iRobot Corporation within 18 months, Jonathan presided over 5 years of the company's most dynamic growth. He led the team that designed and brought to market iRobot's first mass-market consumer product, then went on to create the end-to-end user experience for iRobot's hit consumer robot vacuum, the Roomba™. After helping triple the size of Vecna Technologies as its director of marketing and usability, Jonathan went on to found Graffectivity LLC, an innovation consulting firm, in 2007. An award-winning illustrator, photographer and videographer, Jonathan is also an advanced user of photoshop, illustrator, powerpoint, flash and a host of other tools, delivering innovative solutions quickly and efficiently. The combination of innovation and successful implementation has been a hallmark of Jonathan's work. The results of his pioneering MIT Media Lab Masters' thesis in advanced affective user interfaces were called a "home run" by Stanford professor Clifford Nass. At MIT, Jonathan's advisor, Professor Rosalind Picard wrote, "The more I work with you, the more I see why [University of Michigan advisor, Professor] Elliot [Soloway] thought you were one of the best that comes along ever."
