Jonathan Wong

I've always been an adveturous person, with a positive attitude and a matching work ethic. As young man, I dabbled in Boy Scouts, comepeted in golf tours at a national level and in my free time, helped at our family restaurant. It was here where I learned the value of hard work through the living example of my immigrant mother. These early installments would shape a mentalilty, that would naturally transcend into my professional career.
During highschool I attended ASTI (“Alameda Science and Technology Institute”)- a groundbreaking preparatory program funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation – where I was able lay the foundations of an ambitious goal to finish university early.
In the Fall of 2011, I entered college as an eager Business Economics major at UCR. But during classes at the University of California, Riverside I felt the need to transform & challenge myself outside of the classroom. I made the decision to work early and get involved. I served as a Marketing Co-Director & VP of Operations of the Alpha Kappa Psi; Rho Phi chapter. I also served as UCR's Head Event Director for Global Brigades (Business) - the world’s largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. And also, worked part-time as assistant manager at Joy's Embroidery. I enjoyed having a packed schedule because it propelled me to work relentlessly. In addition to my activities I packed my academic quarters with major-specific courses enabling me to receive my bachelors in less than three years.
In my second summer, I spent time abroad in Beijing, China and was initially brought on as Digital Marketing Intern @ Interactive Beijing – an innovation platform that aims to foster new talents and incubate innovative ideas through a trans-media user experience design approach.
