Jonathan Sungjun Ahn, as of Summer 2013... I am currently on the final year of my college life, double-majoring in computer science and studio art at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. Starting Fall 2013, I will be working on modeling, simulating, and optimizing Nice Ride Minnesota, a bicycle sharing system in Minneapolis-St. Paul, as my senior project (a.k.a. 'Comps'). I try to focus on learning the language of 'making' something; whether it's a new software/website or it's a form of art. I am passionate about the visual perception of space and its implication on web usability. I recently started a startup called '507 Web House'--a 'hyperlocal' web development and design firm for local businesses and communities. I am also working part-time as Associate Web Designer at TempWorks Software in Eagan, Minnesota. I am very enthusiastic about good urban planning practices, architecture and community/neighborhood development, and I am actively involved in grassroots transportation developments as a HUGE advocate of public transit and walkable neighborhoods. I believe that good technologies and good designs are some of the core keys that we need to implement for better place-making practices.
