Jonathan Blackmore

I am a linocut printmaker, living in Devon. I am inspired by landscapes and the natural world.

I studied Fine Art at Somerset College of Arts & Technology (1979) and a BA Honours degree in Fine Art at Wolverhampton University (1982).

I often use the reduction method for my colour prints, cutting away more lino, from a single block, for each successive colour. I find lino an exciting medium, each cut is a commitment, the anticipation builds as each layer is revealed. Making my prints by hand creates slight variations, so that every print is unique

I no longer show my work in galleries. I prefer to present my work for sale online.
