Jonathan Bridges
Dr. Jonathan Bridges has served as an interventional cardiologist with Seacoast Cardiology Associates since 2008, working from the practice’s office in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, as well as its additional locations in Dover, New Hampshire, and York, Maine. Dr. Bridges addresses myriad heart problems using catheter-based treatments, a method that avoids scarring, pain, and long recovery periods. Dr. Jonathan Bridges can accomplish treat both coronary artery and peripheral vascular disease via angioplasty, thrombectomy and stenting. Dr. Jonathan Bridges possesses a long and successful history of educational pursuits, all of which serve him well in his current position. In 1991, he graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, with a Bachelor of Business Administration concentrated in Finance and Business Economics. While attending the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Bridges was presented with the Herman Crown Award and named Valedictorian of the Mendoza College of Business. He also earned the Reverend John J. Cavanaugh, C.S.C. Award for leadership excellence. In addition, Dr. Bridges belonged to the Outstanding College Students Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta, the premedical honor society, and Beta Gamma Sigma, the honor society for business majors. After four years serving in the military, Dr. Jonathan Bridges went on to complete basic science requirements for his Doctor of Medicine at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. He earned his M.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston in 2002. While a student at the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Bridges garnered the Rich Scholarship Award and the National Collegiate Natural Sciences Award. Dr. Bridges subsequently undertook an internship and residency at Harvard Medical School with its affiliated Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center from 2002 to 2005. He then accepted a four-year fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. At Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Dr. Bridges received a host of honors, including the Medical Housestaff Excellence Award, the Harvard Teaching Award, and the Lowell B. McGee Award for Medical Housestaff Teaching Excellence. Dr. Jonathan Bridges earned board certification in internal medicine in 2006. He also earned board certification in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology in 2008 and 2009, respectively.
