Jonathan Crystal is a third-generation principal of Crystal & Company, a leading strategic risk and insurance advisor, addressing clients’ risk management, insurance brokerage, and employee benefits consulting needs. Jonathan serves as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer where he is responsible for the firm’s general operations. Jonathan is focused on scaling growth and operations of the business. He is committed to maintaining the culture and values, ensuring that Crystal & Company stays relevant to their clients for the next 80 years— by being attuned to their critical risk issues and continuing to innovate in their approach to risk management, especially as technology is evolving.
During his tenure at Crystal & Company, Jonathan has served in a number of capacities, most recently leading the firm’s Private Client Services group. Jonathan has presented to audiences across the country on topics of family risk management, including a number of organizations serving the needs of family enterprises, with Attorneys for Family-Held Enterprises, Family Business Network, Family Firm Institute, Family Office Association, Family Office Exchange, and Institute for Private Investors.
Prior to joining the firm, Jonathan was a consultant and project manager with Oliver Wyman, a strategic management consultancy focused on the financial services industry.
Active in the community, Jonathan serves as an officer and member of the Board of The Jewish Museum, the Board of Friends of Mount Sinai, and on the Advisory Board of the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center. He is a founding Trustee of eThePeople.org and a supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. He is also a member of YPO, Gotham Chapter, and serves on the Executive Committee of YPO’s Global Family Business Network.
