Jonathan Hill

I'm an ELT professional with over 10 years experience of English language teaching both in-company & corporate settings to academic and university level backgrounds.

I'm now fully engaged at two Austrian universities teaching English for academic purposes where I lecture advanced students in English phonetics, academic writing, reading and content-based English in a variety of business subjects (such as project management, marketing and digital business & media).

Since 2016 I have become interested in the educational technology (EdTech) scene in ELT. Wishing to explore this area further with the aim to play a future role in employment or as an independent person I decided to work on gaining product and project management experience in order to develop an application (which I am currently working on) to help English learners better improve their vocabulary acquisition. This is being developed in a game-like way to make learning more competitive, interactive and fun. This is scheduled to go into BETA testing mode in April of 2018.

I intend to use this space as a place to showcase stories from the world of EdTech, using tech in the classroom, my own products/videos in addition to other ELT/EdTech related stories. I also occasionally speak at ELT conferences or forums in the Central European region.
