Jonathan Kiev MD

A cardiothoracic surgeon and medical innovator, Jonathan Kiev MD serves as the attending thoracic surgeon at CHI Saint Joseph Health in Lexington, Kentucky. In this role, he focuses on heart and lung diseases, minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery, and thoracic oncology. In addition to his clinical work, Jonathan Kiev MD is the founder and president of AOK Innovations, LLC.
Since 2014, Dr. Kiev has guided AOK Innovations in developing multiple medical devices for the radiology community. For example, the disposable IRAD device allows healthcare professionals to accurately place percutaneous drains in the abdomen or pelvis without additional equipment.
Dr. Kiev holds a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University and a medical degree from Tulane University. He then completed a general surgery internship at St. Barnabas Medical Center and a general surgery residency at Hahnemann University Hospital in Pennsylvania. He has also undertaken fellowships in cardiothoracic surgery, minimally invasive thoracic surgery, and advanced thoracic surgery. Outside of work, he enjoys flying helicopters.
