Jonathan Lui

Hey I'm Jon, a final year Dance student at the University of Surrey, GSA.

I have a background in media production and graphic design, leading to an experience in operating video and audio equipment along with various editing software.

My interest shifted from the digital arts to dance 10 years ago when I picked it up just as an attempt to try something new, proving that one decision can change the whole course of your life.

At my core I am a street/freestyle dancer so I usually attend battles and events that bring the street dance community together.

Keeping an open mind, coming to Surrey and learning other styles like Ballet and Contemporary allowed me to further explore my body and diversify my movement.

To me, dance is a visual representation of music and emotion. I want to teach, perform and create work to share my passion with the people around me, hopefully impacting them in one way or another.
