Jonathan Parry
As the Director of Unconventional Resources for IHS Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA) since 2008, Jonathan Parry’s responsibilities included serving as the head of the company’s global gas supply research team between 2008 and 2010. In this capacity, Jonathan Parry conducted a number of unconventional gas studies for E&P business development, new projects, and corporate strategy teams which resulted in $7 million in revenue for the company. He has successfully predicted a number of shale discoveries and also handled IHS CERA’s gas supply analysis around the world for several years.
Prior to accepting his position with IHS CERA in July 2008, Jonathan Parry served in a variety of capacities at the Chevron Corporation in Houston, Texas. Mr. Parry first joined Chevron as a Senior Production Engineer in May 2004. During his three years in the position, he handled technical consulting work for several major projects including the Jack/St. Malo, Stockman, Gorgon, and Hebron projects. With expertise in a variety of areas, Jonathan Parry specialized in deepwater completions, artificial lift, and equipment. He also developed a number of new products, including titanium tubing in conjunction with Hunting & TIMET. In December 2007, Mr. Parry became the Deepwater Completion Engineering Advisor at Chevron, in which capacity he served until his departure in July 2008 to accept a position at IHS CERA.
Jonathan Parry has also worked extensively for Shell and its U.S. subsidiary, the Shell Oil Company, as well as ICI Chemicals & Polymers, Ltd. Jonathan Parry attended the University of Oxford’s Christ Church college, where he earned a Master of Engineering in Engineering, Economics and Management in May 1996. During his time at Oxford, Mr. Parry held a position as an ICI Engineering Scholar and also studied at Templeton College. In May 2009, Jonathan Parry earned a Master of Business Administration from Rice University’s Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business in Houston, Texas.
