Jonathan Paul

Los Angeles, CA

I was born and raised in Tacoma, WA. I moved to the bay area to attend Santa Clara University and decided to stick around after getting a job at Google in 2005. I spent five amazing years at Google and wore numerous hats over my tenure including account management, Google Analytics specialist, senior sales executive and business development manager in Beijing.

I left Google in November 2010 to develop and launch a location-based ad network, called NearYu, designed for local merchants using real time targeting data to deliver relevant ads to targeted potential customers.

After an unspectacular launch and months of trouble, we decided to shut down NearYu. I took the next few months to travel the world and reflect, which was an incredible experience. I decided the next step of my career would be to get an MBA and focus my studies on real estate. I applied to the schools with the best real estate programs and was very excited when the UCLA Anderson School of Management accepted my application.

While I still love technology and startups, I´ve decided to switch careers and focus full-time on my other passion, real estate investing. After an incredible three months in São Paulo working for Iron House, a real estate fund developing Four Season hotels, luxury residencies and class A office towers in Brazil, I´m keen learn even more about international real estate markets and seek out future opportunities at funds that invest in emerging markets.
