Jonathan Sifiso

Student, Volunteer, and Dancer in Johannesburg

Jonathan is a dedicated third-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Education at the University of Johannesburg, with a strong passion for African culture, sustainability, and meaningful community engagement. Since 2019, he has been actively involved with a non-profit organization called Bambanani, which distributes food, clothing, and essential supplies to children and families in public hospitals. Through this work, Jonathan has developed a deep understanding of the social and emotional challenges many learners face outside the classroom, reinforcing his belief in the value of compassionate, holistic education. In addition to his academic pursuits, Jonathan is actively involved in the university's community engagement programs. These experiences have allowed him to connect theory with practice, and to see firsthand the transformative power of education at the grassroots level.

Outside of his studies, Jonathan is a passionate dancer, using performance as a means to celebrate African heritage and foster unity among youth. He aspires to become an educator who not only imparts knowledge but also serves as a role model, advocate, and change-maker in his community.
