Jonathan Silence

Surrealist by blood, conceptual by nature and storyteller by spirit. I consider myself to have a strong sense of design – both compositional and character-wise. I am a progressive illustrator with great respect and understanding for and of the history, as well as the contemporaries in my field. I see myself as a visual storyteller with a playful approach and, hence I tend to gravitate towards children's books illustrations.
I work traditionally as well as digitally – pen, ink and watercolor are my primary mediums for the traditional work and Adobe Illustrator, as foundation, before enhancing the illustrations with sound, movement and interactive elements in Flash 3.0, for my digital art.
