Recently, I have been helping the Office of the Secretary of the American Mathematical Society better organize and optimize their operations on a daily through yearly cycle, including the introduction and implementation of project management software, task tracking, and calendar management.

My previous role as a Gun Library Outfitter at a local Cabela's allowed me to polish my exceptional customer service skills and hang out with folks who enjoy the outdoors. Along the way, I have learned a lot more about firearms, helped other people increase their education as well, and ensured all of our transactions comply with state and federal laws.

Before that, I managed Cisco Systems' projects in support of Verizon Wireless' National Network Operations and Engineering Data Network. This included orchestrating two network laboratory moves, kicking off a system-wide configuration compliance effort, and organizing and running a national whiteboard session.

Back in Tennessee, I managed, improved, and expanded the physical access control system at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. That sounds pretty major in and of itself, but then I tell you it included over 1200 doors, over 100 buildings, and over 25,000 people a year, and you start to see the full scope.

And in my military days, I drove a warship through the Panama Canal, chased down drug-runners, helped in Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts, dropped off Marines in the Middle East for training and operations, and along the way earned my Surface Warfare Officer qualification.

My education is in Industrial and Systems Engineering - logistics, warehousing, system optimization, statistics, probabilities, modelling (of systems, not people), project management, and taking something and making it awesome. I am currently in the process of achieving my Project Management Professional certification, which will help me make more systems more awesome.

In my unpaid time, I'm a husband, human rights advocate, recreational writer, semi-professional photographer, jerky-maker, and the staff of two very demanding Russian Blues.

Speaking of modeling, though, my face has appeared in magazines.
