Jonathan Tyrer

Jonathan Tyrer was born in 1969. After twenty five years working in the private and charity sector, he co-founded ILE Consulting, a company providing specialist training in the hardware and software used by disabled people, at school, at university or in the workplace. An Access Technology user himself since his mid teens, Jonathan knows from personal experience how appropriate technology and the ability to use it can transform the lives of disabled people. He is also keenly aware of how simple choices, made at the design stage, can greatly enhance the userbility of mainstream goods and services. Jonathan likes to ask the following question when invited to speak on the subject of Design Accessibility: “Why does my local supermarket offer fourteen different types of corn flakes, but only one size of print in its leaflets?”
