Have you ever thought that it’s too late to learn piano or music lessons because you’re no longer young or you think that it is too embarrassing to start from zero knowledge when you are already an adult? Let’s break that stigma, it is never too late nor too embarrassing to learn new skills in this world now that we live in contemporary times. As long as we love what we do, it will eventually love us back more than what we expect. I am Jonah Matthew Enrile, currently in my senior year as a college music student at the UST Conservatory of Music. My lifetime journey in music started when I learned how to play the piano at the age of 12. I was madly, enthusiastically, and deeply and will always be in love with music since then. I have always had continuous progress in piano lessons with my former piano teacher. I was asked to teach piano lessons during the summer season to her young beginners starting at 5 and I was paid an amount of Php 50.00 per student. As I was graduating from high school, I thought I was going to take up Bachelor's Degree in Music in college, but I instead ended up taking a “more practical” course during that time which was BS – Information Technology in UST – Faculty of Engineering.

I never stopped playing the piano with all my heart and learning new pieces that I am capable of learning on my own. I landed a job in the IT industry as soon as I graduated from college. I’ve initially worked as a software developer but soon shifted to a Software Quality Engineering job. Years have passed but my passion for music was still burning. I perform as a pianist on various occasions and events. I still managed to practice playing a couple of music pieces. But I felt like something is lacking and I need to satisfy my desire for music. Then in 2018, an opportunity opened up for me. I took a diagnostic test in the UST Conservatory of Music and performed in an audition. I got a remarkably high grade on the diagnostic test and passed the audition.

After years of being a college music student, I decided to teach piano lessons online full-time so I could reach out to more people to mentor and inspire with my knowledge in music. I am very grateful that I am still able to pursue my passion. I won’t stop until I finish and succeed in my studies in music to become a better musician and to make my family proud. I dream of becoming one of the most inspiring musicians who will make significant changes in people’s lives.
