Brad is a PhD student in cultural anthropology at Washington University in St. Louis. Born and raised in Indianapolis IN, Brad holds a BA in History from Wabash College and an MLA in Gastronomy from Boston University. He is interested in food and farming in the United States, specifically issues related to alternative agriculture, neo-agrarianism, and environmental sustainability.

Brad has long been an advocate for sustainable farming, small-scale food production, and the pleasures of the table. Prior to graduate studies, Brad was the founding director of the Oldways Cheese Coalition, an international non-profit supporting the production of traditional cheese through education, advocacy and public outreach. He is a former board member of Slow Food's Boston chapter, a member of the National Young Farmer's Coalition, and active in the Wash U. Campus Farm, The Burning Kumquat. He has spent several seasons working on organic farms in New England, France, and Italy.
