As a passionate 24 year old singer/songwriter and musician, Music exudes from every fiber of my being. I often find it hard to communicate my thoughts when unescorted by a song. However, being that everyone doesn't communicate this way, I have been forced to learn "Dry English".
I was born in Yakima Washington on June 27, 1988 to Pastors Dewitt and Kim Jones. I often give credit to the lifestyle I was born into for the leadership, and musical skills I was able (forced) to acquire at such a young age.
However, The skill that I fell in love with was music. I began writing serious songs and implementing them into worship services at the age of 13. At the age of 15, we moved to Shreveport Louisiana; the boot. The school I attended - Evangel Christian Academy - allowed me the opportunities to contribute my gifts and grow in every extra curricular activity I desired. Those activities included The Drama Department, Volleyball, and Worship Leadership. I was also given the opportunity to grow in my songwriting skills at Evangel, and during my Senior year of high school, (At 17 years of age) I wrote my very first Grammy and Dove Nominated, Stellar Award winning song, "He Wants it All". While I am thankful for all of these gifts, and opportunities, the truth is... that none of this would have been possible without MY LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. I am determined to remain thankful and in awe of him for the rest of my life.
The unexpected success of this song catapulted our group, foreverJONES, to the top of the charts and the worlds Gospel stage, shared with artists like Yolanda Adams, Fred Hammond, Tye Tribett, and many other Gospel Greats. At the last 2011 BMI Luncheon, I was very happy to receive the award for one of the most widely Recognized Contemporary Gospel Songs.
Since then My family (foreverJONES) has recorded another album entitled Musical Revival and we are currently planning a 30 City Tour. I have had opportunities to write with many other artists and producers including, Keith Thomas, Aaron Pearce, and Aaron Lindsey. My Future can be summed up in the following 8 words: I plan to be BETTER, and Do MORE.
