Jon Giorgi

Currently, I am a student at Lehigh University. I was born in 1997; therefore, I spent a good deal of my childhood watching re-runs of sit coms popular in the late 80's early 90's. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was one of these shows that aired on a daily basis all throughout my childhood. For this reason, I spent a lot of my television viewing time, growing up, watching this show. With the current emergence of the show's sequel ("The Fresh Prince(ss) of Bel-Air"), I am presented with the ability to analyze the difference in depictions of characters in both shows. Using the deeply engrained memories I have from watching the show as a child, I am able to aptly compare/contrast specific differing aspects regarding gender-based parental roles between the show and it's sequel.
