Joni Harris

Joni Harris is a teacher-librarian at Hillside Academy in Garland ISD. Joni is very passionate about being an instructional partner and collaborator with teachers.
Joni has worked in education for 20 years as a classroom teacher and a school librarian. As the librarian, Joni has created a flexible schedule on her campus that allows open checkout for all students at any time, as well as allowing for classes to bring students to the library at a point of need. Joni collaborates and co-teaches with the teachers at her campus on a regular basis. Joni designed a library program that changed the mindset of teachers on her campus, and numerous other librarians in the district and state.
Joni is a Google for Education Certified Educator, a Thinking Maps trainer, and the winner of the 2018 Media Virtual Presence award.
