Joni Church
Editor in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
Joni Church has been picture and story editing feature films, documentaries, episodic, lifestyle and reality television programs for over 28 years.
Her work has aired as flagship programming on PBS (Nova), CBC (The Nature of Things), APTN (First Contact) and The National Film Board of Canada (Life on Victor Street). Her contributions to award winning projects at film and television festivals have been recognized on multiple occasions.
Currently located in Winnipeg, Joni was a fixture as editor on the successful Trailer Park Boys (series and feature films) in Halifax, and was the Supervising Editor at MTV Canada in Vancouver. She is as comfortable working independently as she is collaboratively, both locally and from out-of-market.
In support of the local film community, Joni has taught as a sessional instructor for the University of Manitoba Film Studies program, served as the Chair of the Programming Committee on the Board of Directors at the Winnipeg Film Group, and held the position of Training Coordinator at Film Training Manitoba.
Ultimately, Joni’s strength is her sense of story. She connects meaningfully with scripts so that drama, humour, and emotional impact are fully realized on screen.
