Dr Jon Kok is a Research Associate in the Queensland University of Technology (QUT)/Australian Research Centre for Aerospace Automation (ARCAA)and is working on the Plant Biosecurity Cooperative Research Centre 2135 project: Optimising surveillance protocols using unmanned aerial systems. He is investigating the detection of crop diseases using advanced remote sensing sensors (high-resolution, multispectral, hyperspectral, thermal) integrated on unmanned aircraft (drones). From 2011-2014, he was on a Cooperative Research Centre for Spatial Information and QUT PhD scholarships researching multi-criteria decision making aspects of the Edison-award winning Fugro ROAMESproject, which involves the survey of very large scale powerline infrastructure networks and surroundings using airborne high-resolution laser and imaging sensors.
