Jon Kostyniuk

Jon has over 18 years of expertise in the fields of transportation engineering and computer modelling. His project experience in transportation planning includes project management, coordination, and technical roles. He has experience in the development of a transportation data framework using emerging blockchain technology. Jon actively continues his professional development with interests in big data, connected and automated vehicles, intelligent transportation systems, information security, and other emerging technology applications.

Using his computer modelling and programming skills, Jon has developed multi-resolution transportation models (i.e. demand, operational, and micro-simulation) to assess the application of integrated mobility interactions and solutions for various modes of travel. These applications include policy development, transportation master plans, transportation impact studies, peer reviews, and environmental assessments with work experience across Canada and internationally.

Further, Jon has management experience as part of a team that oversees the operations and maintenance of a municipal traffic signal system of over 420 intersections, street light infrastructure, automated enforcement programs, data collection, and other related programs. This includes his lead in the program management and implementation of various ITS projects including ATMS upgrades, video management systems and CCTVs, and the development of a new transportation management centre (TMC).
