Hey, I’m Jonny Sammut.
Director of Digital Services at the Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust, Chair of the BCS Wales Hub, Fellow of the BCS, FEDIP Practitioner, and author of ‘In the Loop with AI: Staying Human at Work and in Life’.

Originally from Pietà, Malta, I’m a technologist (and unapologetic constructive disruptor… with a bit of pirate energy 🏴‍☠️) who believes technology should work for people, not the other way around.

With 20+ years’ experience across FTSE 100 organisations and complex public services, I sit at the intersection of strategy, delivery, and innovation. I specialise in turning ambition into reality, modernising legacy estates, scaling data and AI capabilities, strengthening cyber resilience, and bringing emerging technologies into live, frontline services safely and ethically.

I’ve built my career on asking better questions, challenging the status quo, and creating environments where teams can thrive. Whether it’s shaping digital front doors, enabling system-wide data insight, or leading large-scale transformation, my focus is always the same: real-world impact, not just good ideas.
