Jono Elderton
Father, Student, and Writer in Buckra Bendinni NSW, Australia
G'day,
I'm Jono.
I'm studying the Graduate Diploma in Professional Writing at Deakin, having obtained a B. Arts majoring in creative writing and psychology from the University of Canberra in 2003.
I'm building for my return to paid writing; trying to learn a modern understanding of the communications landscape, useful knowledge of digital, and refreshing my long dormant skills in quill and ink.
I have been out of the profession of writing for almost a decade; as an English teacher abroad, mediocre travel agent, and restaurant dishwasher, but most recently as a grower of tomatoes, cucumbers, and native fruits on the mid North Coast of NSW.
My wife and hero Katie, children Archie (2) Rory (1) and I live on small acreage, close to Bowraville, NSW.
I'll be studying in between readying the farm for sale, picking fruit, and rescuing the kids from underneath the couch.
We have the weirdest behaving cat in history, two paranoid dogs, and four horses - ranging in size and disposition from sweetly agreeable to totally curmudgeonly.
I like kids tv (through necessity), dinosaurs, the Hawthorn Hawks, occasional lunchtime wine, and the dream of eight hours continuous sleep.
