Jon Rydberg

Experienced in firearms and military weapons development and manufacturing, Jon Rydberg of Unionville, CT, now utilizes his significant industry background as a consultant and compliance and auditing manager to advise manufacturers, retailers, and distributors of firearms. After nearly two decades of working for major defense contractors and firearms manufacturers, including Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense in Avon, CT, and Smith & Wesson in Springfield, MA, Jon Rydberg founded Orchid Advisors in 2012.

Today, Jon Rydberg and his colleagues at Orchid Advisors offer a broad cross-section of consulting services, ranging from compliance with Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) regulations and business development to accountability (SOX) and enterprise risk management. From his Unionville, CT, headquarters, Rydberg and his team focus on improving operational and compliance measures that will help drive performance and grow profit margins for client businesses. The author of The Four Pillars of Firearm Compliance, Rydberg works with customers to implement the proprietary methodology he lays out in the book.

Prior to establishing Orchid Advisors, Jon Rydberg worked as a research-and-development project manager in the Avon, CT-based space and tactical weapons division of Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense. He also served as a group manager at Ernst & Young LLP and as a managing director and partner in the business consulting and auditing unit of Protiviti Consulting in Los Angeles. He received an MBA from the Lally School of Management and Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
