Jon Scholl

Piano Teacher in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Hey there!

My name is Jon Scholl, I'm the owner and teacher at Piano Player's Workshop here in Baton Rouge, LA.

I have over 30 years of experience playing on the instrument and have been teaching for almost 20 years now. I teach kids, teens and adults at all skill levels, and focus on helping you play the music that inspires you.

I have a background gigging with different rock, pop, blues and variety bands over the past 25 years, so popular/contemporary music is my strong point. I'm also a lover of classical, blues and jazz though, and therefore incorporate pieces, exercises and theory from those genres into lesson plans to whatever extent the student desires, or I see fit to the development of the student.

I work hard to create lesson plans with my students that center around not only what will best strengthen their weaknesses and piano playing abilities in general, but also around their interests in an effort to help them learn material that keeps them excited and inspired to keep learning.

I find it of the utmost importance that the student is always passionate about the instrument and maintains a strong interest in wanting to learn and play. Most often my students are focusing on 2 main things: repertoire that they want to learn (no matter what the genre), along with songs and exercises from workbooks of my choosing to improve their technique and overall musical knowledge.

In order to make sure my style of teaching is in line with the students interests, the first lesson with me is considered a trial lesson and is always free. There is no pressure to continue after that first trial lesson, it is just that, a trial to see if the lesson plan I propose and my style of teaching suits you right.

Tuition ranges between $156.75-$296.50 per month (after the first free trial lesson of course).

You can message me using the "Book a consultation" button above or by phone at 585-472-5266 to set up a free trial lesson, or to ask any questions that you may have.

Thanks!

Jon Scholl
