Jon Sockol
For over a decade, Jon Sockol has developed properties through his Westborough, Massachusetts-based Vivon Corporation. As President, Treasurer, Director, and Secretary for the real estate development and leasing company, Sockol oversees all its enterprises. In 2006, he filed site specifications with the City of Marlborough in order to create a retail and office building on Northboro Road. The public received an opportunity to review these plans, and after four months, the city and its planning board approved Jon Sockol's proposal. However, an abandoned building stood in the location of Sockol's new development, so he applied for and obtained a demolition permit. In 2008, the City of Marlborough granted him a Commercial New Permit that allowed him to commence work on the two-story, 46 x 74 ft. office building. The following year, Jon Sockol obtained a permanent Certificate of Occupancy, certifying its compliance with all applicable building codes and deeming it safe. Previously, Sockol was involved with the development of 5,760-square-foot, one-story building also located on Northboro Road in Marlborough.
Prior to starting Vivon Corporation, Jon Sockol studied business administration at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he graduated cum laude before matriculating at Bentley University and earning his Master of Science in Accounting. In the early 1990s, Sockol passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination on his first attempt and worked as a registered CPA. He formerly belonged to the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, Inc., and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
In 1993, Jon Sockol founded a company called Our Future Learning Center, inc. Jon Sockol operated this busniess for almost 18 years until he sold it in 2011.
