Jo Rawstron

Welcome to my about.me page - I'm glad you're here!

I'm Jo Rawstron and I'm a blogger. I write about my experience of disability, my encounters with the NHS, and the things that keep me sane: friends and family, my cat, baking, and crafts of all kinds.

My background is in medicine (I spent a few years at medical school) and although I wasn't able to graduate, I gained a valuable insight into the inner workings of the NHS. I became almost fluent in 'medical jargon' - a skill that has proved invaluable in my current role as a patient.

If you found my blog because of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (or a similarly horrible medical condition), I'm really sorry. I wish that you didn't have to know about the dark underworld of the Hospital Patient. I hope that you'll find the information on my blog helpful, and that you come away feeling more positive and less alone.

In addition to my blog, you can find me on twitter and pinterest. Come and introduce yourself, ask questions, share your story and join the conversation.

I look forward to getting to know you!
