Jordan McNeil

Oldest of three girls, I am currently in my final year at Youngstown State University. Majoring in Professional and Technical Writing, I have a passion for words and the English language and try my best to expand my skills and experience in the field. I copy-edit for The Jambar, YSU’s school newspaper, and intern at Grow Youngstown, working on public relations, communications, and marketing. I’m also active in various clubs at YSU, including the Student Literary Arts Association, which produces a literary magazine named Jenny.

My greatest love of words is in fiction and I’m often thinking of story ideas in between my classes. I hope to one day to move to a big city and work in the publishing industry — and maybe even become a published novelist. I have been published in The Penguin Review, another literary magazine on YSU campus, and won the 2013 Hare Award for Fiction. I’d love for my work to eventually be nationwide.

When I’m not working with words, I can be found hanging out with my friends, catching up on my favorite TV shows, reading great fiction, or working on a good night’s sleep.
