Having moved many times throughout my life, I have learned to adapt to many new situations. Although I was originally from Georgia, my family and I moved to South Carolina at a young age. Because I was very young, I did not have many other experiences to base my past life on. As I got older, my family decided to move to a different part of South Carolina. This caused me to meet entirely new people and become immersed in new environments. I became involved in my new school and created new friendships, while trying to maintain previous friendships from where I used to live. Just when I thought that I was getting used to the area, my parents decided to move again when I went off to college in order to be closer to me. It was frustrating having to get used to new surroundings again, but it taught me valuable lessons about adaptation and meeting new people. It has been tough trying to keep up with people from different locations, but it has made me a part of who I am today. Just recently, my parents decided to move to another part of Georgia. Even though I have not been in the area for a long time, I have still found myself being able to meet new people. Although change is hard, I have found it to be necessary in order for people to grow.
