Jordan Edwards (Mixology)
President of Mixology Clothing Company in New York
As the president of Mixology Clothing Company, New York’s Jordan Edwards has seen the company grow from a small family-owned retail shop to an expansive business with locations across the United States, more than 100 clothing brands, and 100,000 Facebook likes and Twitter followers. Mixology Clothing Company started as a partnership between Jordan Edwards’ father and Jonathan and Rene Shapiro, who owned a small boutique clothing shop that was struggling after the 2008 recession.
The new concept was a clothing store that provided designer brands and reasonably priced pieces that could be mixed together. A graduate of Northeastern University, Edwards initially joined the company in 2011 to help create an online store, but in 2013, after Hurricane Sandy, he began to offer help as a consultant.
Under his guidance, the company was able to increase its revenue both online and through retail stores. Within a few years, Mixology had increased its locations in New York. Going forward, the company plans to expand its retail locations across the country and projects a 400 percent increase in Web sales within the next year.
