Working on the very edge of knowledge is what a PhD is all about. It drives you to innovate new ideas, whilst basing them within a strong understanding of what has come before.

This is my approach to grasping modern politics. As a young person, a Brit, a European, engaging with the people who hold executive power over the government(s) under which I live offers an exciting challenge to understand, critique and maybe one day change the world around me.

My main interest is European politics, with a focus on Britain and Spain. My PhD is looking into the political fragmentation of parts of these countries as they transition from traditional nation states into EU member states. I'm conducting this research at the University of London, Birkbeck College. I also edit and contribute to British elections intelligence website Cicero Elections, which looks at voting patterns, polling, and party policy development.
