I’m Jordan Riki, a proud Māori man, a professional rugby league player, and someone driven by purpose both on and off the field.
I was born on 18 January 2000 in Christchurch, New Zealand. My roots are everything to me. Growing up, I was surrounded by strong family values, culture, and the kind of environment that teaches resilience early. My whakapapa (heritage) is a big part of who I am, it keeps me grounded and reminds me who I represent every time I step onto the field.
My journey in rugby league has been built through hard work, discipline, and belief. Nothing was handed to me. From playing junior footy to working my way into the NRL, I’ve always focused on improving every part of my game. I play in the back row, and I take pride in bringing intensity, physicality, and energy in every match. For me, it’s about effort, consistency, and earning respect, not just talent.
Playing for the Brisbane Broncos has been one of the biggest honours of my career. Representing a club with such a strong legacy and passionate supporters means a lot to me. Every time I wear the jersey, I’m not just playing for myself, I’m playing for my teammates, my family, and everyone who’s supported me along the way.
Off the field, I’m someone who values loyalty, honesty, and real connections. Life has its challenges, and I’ve faced my share, but those experiences have helped shape my mindset and character. I believe in staying mentally strong, focused, and true to who I am, no matter the situation.
I’m also passionate about inspiring the next generation, especially young people who come from backgrounds similar to mine. I want to show that your starting point doesn’t define your future, your mindset, discipline, and work ethic do. If I can lead by example and motivate even one person to chase their goals, that means something to me.
Family is a huge part of my life. They’re my support system, my motivation, and the reason I keep pushing forward. Through every high and low, they’ve been there, and that’s something I never take for granted.
At my core, I’m still growing, still learning, and still chasing greatness, not just in rugby league, but in life. I stay grounded in my roots, focused on my goals, and committed to becoming the best version of myself every day.
This is my story, and I’m only getting started.
