Born in Trujillo, Perú in 1964 he left his country, in 1995, following his passion of excell in mechanical engineering. He obtained first a Master of Science, in 1995, of the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez and later a PhD,in 2002, of the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, USA. Then he accepted a faculty appointment at the Polytecnic University of Puerto Rico where spent 5 year in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and later moved to the University of Puerto Rico in Carolina in the Department of Engineering Technology, where currently is working.
