Hi, I’m Jorge. I’m a software engineer living in Canadá. Born and raised in Santiago, Chile, with 12+ years of experience in Software Development Industry and 23+ years in Business. My passion for business began when I was 15 years old as a seller of soda pops in downtown Santiago. This generated a good profit at a young age. This entrepreneurship gave me the possibility to buy proudly my first brand new car at 18 years old. After that, around 2003, the internet cafe business was very popular. That time, I implemented 3 internet cafe branches, managing a lease of 50 computers and 5 PlayStations focusing on internet and video games such as Call of duty and StarCraft. I ran my business 365 days for 4 years, without stopping or got day-off. I managed between 40 - 70 daily video gamer customers of different ages. At the same time, I got my degree as a Computer Science Engineer. Upon I got my degree, I started my career as a Full-stack Developer in different industries in the public-sector and private-sector until I reached the highest role of my career as Head of Software Development Department and Maintenance for the Chilean government. Then, I finished my master's degree as a specialist in "Business Process Optimization". In order to continue my Professional Development, I decided to learn English. Therefore, 4 years ago I designed a plan for my family to know in depth an English-speaking country and its culture. We chose Canada as our destination, and so far in Vancouver, I have achieved to learn English and got a diploma in Mobile Application Development. Additionally, as a Software Development Consultant, I have had the opportunity to advise and work on different companies that are using software for their business processes such as start-ups and in the mining sector.Finally,I am a fan of entrepreneurship, programming, and web development.
