Josaphat C. Tam is an Associate Professor of Biblical Studies, Vice President and Academic Dean at Evangel Seminary, Hong Kong. He holds a PhD from The University of Edinburgh, Scotland and a ThM from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Illinois. Tam is a Langham scholar and has written articles and book reviews for academic journals such as Biblica, Expository Times, Biblical Theology Bulletin, Journal of Theological Studies, Religious Studies Review, Bryn Mawr Classical Review, as well as some Chinese Christian periodicals. Having written a concise commentary on the General Epistles, he is currently writing a concise commentary on 2 Peter (Chinese).

A member of the Society of Biblical Literature, Institute for Biblical Research, Evangelical Theological Society, and British New Testament Society, Tam is an elder at Tsing Yi Peace Evangelical Centre where he pastored before. Before his call to full-time ministry, he was a civil engineer.
