Jose Maestri

On September 26, 2008, I was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes Mellitus. It was probably one of the better things to happen to me. You see, there’s something magical that happened when my sugar levels were finally back in their proper place. I had a feeling of near immortality and invincibility, and led to a surge of limitless imagination and inspiration. And so, ten years from now, when someone asks me what I do for a living, I will tell them I am an entrepreneur, consultant, artist/band manager, radio host, party/event host, musician, DJ, dancer, photographer, poet, public speaker, improv actor, blogger, programmer, paddleboarder, billiards and cards player, amateur magician, former vagabond, cultural enthusiast, and perhaps just a little superhuman. I am currently a communications student studying at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. I am working towards my B.S. in Communications focused in Media Management and Psychology, and with a minor in Business Administration. I have interned at The Launch Pad, the entrepreneurship center on campus, at WTVJ, the local NBC affiliate, and for Nino Valentino, a local musician with lots of radio play. I have a passion for and absolute fascination in music, technology, and people. I plan to use all this in the radio, tech, counseling, and music industries, although perhaps not at the same time. I like people. I like music. I like fun. I don’t do boring. I am a simple man who is easily amused. The world is my playground.
