JOSE FERREIRA

Jose Ferreira is an artist, academic, writer, adventurer, originally from Mozambique. He has an international reputation teaching classes in sculpture and photography. He was a Research Fellow in Digital Media at the University of Sunderland in England, and an Assistant Professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 2006 until 2013. He teaches classes that conflate ideas between walking, drawing, sculpture and photography. His thematic class titled, Walking the City explores notions of identity and subjectivity through peripatetic practice, and proved to be a transformative experience for students. Ferreira brings this expertise to exclusive photographic retreats in several locations accross the globe.
