Architect in Panamá
I am an architect currently living in Panamá. My interests range from design to politics. I am also interested how cities can change the quality of life of its citizens using the public space as the most powerful tool.
I studied architecture at the Universidad de Panama (2005) and have a Master degree in Design and Public Space at ELISAVA, Barcelona-Spain (2007). Also participate at the JICA training program Urban Management for a Sustainable Urban Development (2015).
I´m the founder of JiA-Jose Isturain Architecture (2008) and Co-founder of Giro Urbano (2009). Deputy Director of the Urban Planning Department at Alcaldía de Panama (2014-2019).
For me architecture is not about creating beautiful buildings, but creating interesting contexts.
